Durante cuarenta y dos años se ha realizado la entrega de los Lighting Design Awards, en Londres. Esta premiación reconoce el trabajo de diseñadores de iluminación, despachos y arquitectos realizados en el último año. En la gala de premiación el pasado 3 de mayo salieron a relucir proyectos de 18 países, incluidos Corea, India, Australia, Noruega, Suecia, Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, Francia, España, Alemania, Emiratos Árabes Unidos, Suiza y Grecia.
Los siguientes fueron los ganadores:

Lighting Design Practice of the Year: Light Kunst Licht, Berlin/Bonn, Alemania
Architectural Practice of the Year: Ateliers Jean Nouvel
Publisher’s Lifetime Achievement Award: James Carpenter
Hotel and Restaurant Project of the Year: Five Palm Jumeirah Dubai, UAE-Inverse Lighting Design
Leisure Project of the Year: Tiffany Gallery, New-York Historical Society- spa lighting consultants
Retail Project of the Year: Balenciaga, Paris -Licht Kunst Licht
Heritage Project of the Year: Ulm Minster, Ingenieure Bamberger
Community & Public Realm Project of the Year: The Piece Hall, Halifax, Reino Unido- BuroHappold
Daylight Project of the Year: Musee d’arts de Nantes, France – Light – Light + Air group, Max Fordham
Integration Project of the Year: German Ivory Museum, Erbach, Alemania. Proyecto de Licht Kunst Licht
Light Art Project of the Year: First Sunset in the Pacific, Madrid, España. Proyecto de Clavel Architects
